Probably wrong, but thinking out loud about the TSC “BRs”

I am just thinking out loud. I know I, and many others are curious about what is happening.

I‘m sure we are all very familiar with the TSC BRs that Hoover’s has been pumping out.

Well while doing my daily Cackle surfing dreaming about all the birds I will never be able to afford I found these, Kosher King.

I’ve personally never heard of them. But they reminded me of the TSC “Barred Rocks”.

Cackle didn’t have any images of the pullets.

So, I went to the web (which I know can’t be trusted. Just look at all the misinformation on Ameraucanas. Main reason I decided to make this thread.) and found pictures of the pullets. They look almost identicle.

Now I know Hoover’s has two lines of BRs, thanks to @TheAlrightyGina.

Anyone think these could be related? I know Kosher King are meat birds.

Also, does that website I linked have correct pictures of the pullets?
That’s very interesting! Now you have me thinking a bit. They do look a like.

Yep. They mention BR and Sussex. I wonder if anyone on here has made that cross before and has pictures?
I have a Buff Orpington/Barred Rock X Australorp that looks like them.

I need to put her down though.

I wouldn't put the odd hoover BR coloring in any meatbird category. They are small girls. They lay well though. 7 out of 8 most days since Christmas. Had a food related issue that dropped production, but they're solid layers definitely worth the $0.25 each I payed.
Interesting.

Hoovers must have mixed something into their lines though, perhaps it was sussex, giving it the same appearance as the Kosher King, seeing as Kosher Kings were originally developed from Sussexs and Barred Plymouth Rocks.

Here’s all 4 of my BRs that I got from TSC last March. Yes, I got them at the same time, same place, and from the same bin. They were the only breed in the bin too. Yeah, Nelly ended up being the only pullet out the four “BRs”. She’s a good mom, though.
