PROBIOTICS for you and your chickens

Add the fruit after the 24 hour culturing period and after straining! Then let your imagination take over and run wild the sky is the limit as to what you can add to your kefir while it is aging in the fridge!!

I would call who you ordered them from and have them send you more grains and not take a chance on them being contaminated from the shipping!!

Ernie

OH and not a problem on the help

Fermenting Kefir releases gasses and sealing it makes a more carbonated Kefir! You should leave the lid a little loose for the gasses to escape! I put mine in a glass jar with a towel over it held in place with a rubber band to allow it to breathe (Makes a Much Mellower kefir

I'm using a coffee filter with a rubber band.

Clean Paper towel with a rubber band to hold it in place (Little cheaper than a coffee filter)
But a coffee filter will work just fine also or a white dishcloth or kitchen towel and when in doubt if you have no Rubber band! A large hair tie or heist a Silly Band from a kid LOL

OK so I just happened to have a silly band around and didn't have a rubber band so I used a Silly band (It was a snowman sillyband after all LOL)

Hi Miss Lydia

The store bought kefir only has about 10 Probiotics and will not continue to make kefir and produce and grow as real Kefir does! But still if that is all you have access to by all means keep drinking it as it is better than NO Probiotics as all!!!

Ernie

True, I am just waiting on someone on here who might start sending through the mail, but can't remember who it was, I think I need more than probiotics,

I also get little chunky curds. I have been trying to culture them more recently, but haven't gotten anything like another grain yet. If you choose to try something, let me know how the experiment goes!
Ginny

NEVER!

I'm not that far off from having to get one (sigh)

How long have you been growing your little curds? I want mine to start multiplying! I think the kefir babies might need a pep talk.

Ernie
