Probiotics?

So I know that yogurt and buttermilk are good for chickens, but what about just plaing probiotics, like what I take and what I give my kids? I'm thinking of opening a capsule and maybe sprinkling some over the food?

Not sure about the ones that you take but, they do make them for animals. I use Probios, the powdered type, and mix it in their water. I find it in the calf meds section at our local farm store. It comes in a variety of forms too!
