Problem cockerel- Please help!

So I’m pretty sure he is only being aggressive to this 1 pullet, because he is polite to the other girls, which is what is confusing me. They were locked up in their little temporary chicken tractor this morning, so maybe that was why. I really don’t know. He’s a good rooster and has always been polite to the pullets, but he’s mean only to that one. She was bullied by the big flock which is why I moved her, then she got bullied by him. I’m gonna separated him until Sunday or Monday then supervise him for 10-20 minutes in the big flock and if he is still aggressive then he will be leaving soon.

So good news. My aunt will be taking him next week to put with her older hens and roosters. She knows about his temperament and all that, so I guess we’ll see how it goes. I took a pullet from her last week, now she gets to take a cockerel from me. I’m glad he gets to go to a good home and if it all works out I could go check up one him every now and then and see how he is doing.

Glad you found a place for him! Rehoming him was the right thing as Marans roos are usually pretty easy to get along with, and he's awfully young to be acting like a jerk. Maybe some older girls can "school" him.

She has a few roos too, so maybe they’ll teach him how to be nice. I think she has 2 other roos.
