Problem making decision

Yea, Hennible. In threes. Seems my silkie will pass today and I'll send her for a necropsy.

With the roo, why is it that when you decide to do the deed, they look better?

I will post updates, and a necropsy report in a few weeks.

seminolewind...

my heart goes out to you...both you and eggcessive have given me wonderful support with Ruby..if you did not see the latest post she was euthanased on Friday afternoon...

I cannot imagine the heartache you are going through with three of yours being so very ill and close to death...I do so wish that there was some miracle cure for them and for the heart rending decisions you are making...just before Ruby was euthanased she seemed to perk up and I hoped that she was OK...fact told me no but my heart wanted her to stay with me forever...I guess we all know them well enough to know when their quality of life is at the end...so many tears I have shed for you and yours...be strong, have faith and know that we are all here for you..and yours...24/7...

Oh Suzie, thankyou for that.

With the roo he can't walk on the bumble foot foot. Maybe I should just go ahead and do the surgery and see . I'm running my silkie girl up to the post office to send for a necropsy.

I would go ahead and do the bumblefoot surgery...I did one on Ruby a week before she succumbed ...hard decision but I went ahead..purely for her comfort in her condition..she did act much better two days after surgery...

What do we have to lose in trying to make them more comfortable...? I know that the initial surgery is painful to them but if it gives them a better quality of life for however long they have with us...it is a bonus..just my opinion.

Thoughts are with you at such a difficult time...you have so many people here rallying for you and your flock...

So sorry to hear about the Silkie girl...this is heartbreaking but reality too...when the time comes to say goodbye it is so much harder to acknowledge than to accept..the miracle we wish for is so far away.

If I were a chicken ...I would love to be adopted by someone as caring and loving as you...

You are amazing...

Agh, Karen, I'm so sorry. I am also going through an unusual bout of prolonged bad times, so I can relate. My heart goes out to you. I hope that you are able to ease your rooster's bumblefoot at least. I'm so sorry that your silkie didn't make it. There is just something about silkies...

My thoughts are with you.

Thanks for the support.
Suzie, You must have gone thru a lot with Maman. What a cutie in your avatar.

I was never really interested in silkies until Purplechicken kept talking about evil silkies. Over the past 6 years, I had become attached to them because of their "family" parenting . Watching 4 silkie hens stealing turns to sit on the eggs. Seeing roos accepting of the chicks, even if they were Polish! I have 5 Polish that for six years still consider him Pop and he still treats them like they are family. I still have my first silkie roo who is 6.5 years old .

Thanks for the ear!

Nambroth, what do you have going on?

I thought I'd give his bumble another shot and got a clump of yellow ick out. His foot is really swollen . I massaged around for about 45 minutes and couldn't get any more stuff. I'm glad I got something!

Glad you git something out, but where are the pictures?
