My four peachicks were with a few pheasants and turkeys and the pheasants started to peck at one of the peachicks rear-end. Thankfully I got it them out before it got to serious. Anyways to my question after that happened the peachicks poop is sticking to its rear-end. I have been wiping it off every night but is there anything else to do. The poor thing is crying like he/she is in pain.

Will get pictures soon. I really didn't like the idea of the pheasants with them either but dad just kind of put them in the same box. I don't get to voice my opinion, when he makes his decision thats the end of that story. But the peachicks are out of there now.

This happened to a peachick I bought from filthy conditions at a bird show and I was told, by a reliable source, that this is not a fixable condition once they get it so I had a friend put it down. It's some type of birth defect.

Here is the picture. It doesn't really do justice. The peachick was fine before the pheasant came along. So its not a birth defect in my case, but I am no expert.
The feathers/fuzz around the vent were all pecked off by the pheasant and thats all I can see.

What are you feeding the peachicks? You could put some vasoline around the vent to help keep the poo from sticking. The only time I ever have this problem is when I use chicken chicks to train turkey poults to eat. It happens to my baby chickens when they are on the 28% feed when they really should get the 20%. Being thet yours were in with pheasants and turkeys, I assume they were on 28-30% feed which those two breeds need, peachicks don't.

Look like to me it has a condition know as pasty butt you need to keep the vent area clear keep it clean off or he will get stop up and can't poop and it can kill it
