Problem with ducky

Oh what about a baby chicken would that work if the person im getting my birds from dosent have any ducks. Havent talked to her yet to see if she has any avalible. Im just planning ahead

You need to get another duck ASAP. What breed/sex is the duck you have? It would always be preferable to get a female companion. Ducks are very social animals, and need other ducks!! If you get a chicken, they may hang out and bond, but I think it would be much better to get a duck!! Check out the buy/sell area of this forum to find another duck, or look up rescue duck, it you want an older one. You could always order a duckling or two.

I think that your feathered friend will remain very friendly, but will not need you nearly as much. Good luck and have fun being a duck mom

hehe thank you. we went ahaed and got a baby chicken because the lady gave her to use free because it was getting picked on by the other chickens and she needed a good home so my wife went ahead and got her so she wouldent get hurt by the others. We also got 12 more duck eggs to hatch. Wish use luck that all are babies will make it safe through incubation!

And im not shure what breed my duck is at the moment let me post a pic of him for you too see just a sec

his/her( dunno the sex yet) feathers are starting to turn tan/pink/brown. 3 weeks already quacking

. think its a female myself ^_^

I had this same problem with a gray Call drake that I hatched out as a singleton. I was told by some very wise people on here to just put him out in the pen with the other Calls and walk away for a couple of hours. Boy, did I feel mean because he cried for me the whole time. The next day, he was good to go.
He adapted SO well that now when I try to pick him up he tries to shrug me off.

So glad he has his duck buddies, but I have to admit, it did hurt my feelings at first.
I know, I have issues....
