. . . and, i wouldn't do the exlax. You don't want to harm the dog. It's not his fault.

Don't poison the dog it could come back to haunt you.
Get documentation, make the animal control/police do their job.
Secure your fence . Send certified letter giving them 30 days to move their dog house. If not moved ,Move it, send a bill for labor and disposal fees.
Call police any time dog is on your property. Ask the officer about your countys ordinance concerning protection of livestock.
Be cool with the cops and they will do so in return. I have freinds who are cops. (I was a Firefighter) They will give you some good free advice. All you have to do is ask. Life is short don't let the neighbors problems become yours.

Good Luck

Don't take your anger out on the dog. Do it with the neighbors. The dog doesn't know any better. What would be solved by giving it exlax? They'd probably put the dog outside and it would be right back in the yard.

I find it hard to understand why some will forfeit their rights for the convenience of irresponsible folks. Your property is yours and as long as you do not violate any ordnance or the rights of others, what you do on your property is you business. If you leave toxic material where a neighbor's dog, or any other animal for that matter, can ingest it, you have done nothing wrong. Unless the item is labeled for proper storage/disposal. If you put laxatives out and the neighbors dog eats it then squirts in their house or in your yard it probably won't solve the problem and may cause unintended harm to the dog.

I have always had dogs and have from time to time let them run. Generally speaking I am not bothered by the occasional dog visiting my property. Without exception if my dogs were indicated as a problem or even a nuisance, I would restrict them to my property. I have spent time and money to ensure my dogs remained on my property. I expect the same from any of my neighbors. For someone to expect you to allow their animal unrestricted access to your property is a form of bullying in my opinion. Owning animals requires a level of responsibility. You can not be held responsible for the irresponsibility of others.

Put up the fence and a security or game camera may not be a bad idea either.

I don't WAIT for a neighbour to tell me my dogs are a nuisance to them, (or risk them getting hurt, lost or stolen for that matter). As far as I know they are well aware of where to obtain a dog if they want one. I keep my dogs on my property and away from theirs. I will never understand the mentality of letting a valued dog run at large.

Yup..i'm literally frantic the times my dog has escaped my yard... i run all around my street like a fool until i find them.
One time my female jumped her pen at night when we let her out to potty... it was like midnight...
i was outside shaking a bag of treats and hollering for her... NO way i was going to sleep with out finding her that night.
Neighbors came out and helpd us too... I love my neighbors.
