Problems Hatching Call Ducks

The two other ducklings hatched and now I have four. Somehow I hatched an all white one from Bibbed parents. They are all doing great, and I have another batch of 8 due in six days. Its very cold out so we are planning on keeping them in a brooder downstairs until it's warm out. The fourth duckling was shrink rapped and hatched this morning on day 28. He seems to be doing good now, wobbling around and seeing the world for the first time

I am very interested in looking into call duck genetics.. there isn't a lot on the web tho but I plan to check out some forums or articles. My white baby has a little black spot on it's back and head. I think it would be considered a splash coloration? I read a little, I don't know if this is correct but blue to blue gives you 50 percent blue, 25 percent black and 25 percent splash.

It's possible that it's a very light silver (that's what we call Splash in ducks). Or, it could be a white duck with some black leakage.

I would lean more toward white with black leakage, because even very light silvers usually have a black beak. Though it's possible the duckling's beak could darken with age, too.

There's an article I wrote about duck color genetics linked in my signature if you're wanting to do your own reading about it :)

Thank you, will look into.
