My 1 yr old Easter Egger stopped laying about 3 weeks ago except for a couple with hardly any shell. Most recently there were 2 that looked liked chewed up paper and came out with poop. Her poop has been sticking to her, too.
Yesterday she was lethargic and had trouble flying to the coop. After I put her away I saw a big yolk with no shell where her water is. Her crop seemed hard.
Today her crop is totally empty and flexible, so not surprisingly, she isn’t eating. She is all puffed up with her tail down.
It seems like there is a blockage in her egg duct. I’m not sure how to tell or what I can do. Soak her?
Thanks for your help!

Sounds like she may be having some reproductive difficulties which can be common in laying hens.
I'd get some Calcium Citrate and give her 1 tablet daily for a week.

Do check to make sure her crop is emptying overnight, if it's not, then address that symptom (link below).

Work on hydration and encourage her to eat. Getting a fecal float to see if worms are a contributing factor is always a good idea too.

Thank you for your advice! I do think it is a reproductive issue and I’m at fault for giving her too many sunflower seeds.
I gave her a epsom “bath” (she stood in 3” of water while I cleaned off her poopy feathers and then rinsed) and some crushed tums in yogurt.
She is keeping her tail normally again but till not that hungry and pretty lethargic.
I’ll see how UCDavid does fecal tests.
Thanks again
