Just some info and pictures for those who may be interested. This was our first time processing meat birds, and first time raising them start to finish. We started with six Cornish X chicks. Two had to be processed at six weeks due to a dog situation.

The other four were processed today, two days short of eight weeks. Out of six straight run chicks, we ended up with one hen and five roosters. I didn't get final or processed weights at six weeks, but today our live and processed weights, respectively, were 9.5L and 7P, 8.5L and 6P, 7.5L and 5.5P, and 9L and 6P. I don't know if we will do Cornish again. They seem to have lost their essential "chicken-ness". We are leaning towards trying colored broilers next time. It was certainly a good learning experince, though.
