Tell us how the chili is! Glad your family liked the chicken, and that you ate some of it.

Of course you can do it! You gave those birds the best life they could ask for, and they are thanking you by putting food on your table, you did a great job

what happened to our CTstock thread? I can't find it in "my posts." Didn't we have one started by moosehill? anyway, i'm hoping we can revive this thread and not get locked. I need at least one place where I know my ctbycers, and, of course, marlin, will post and not forget about me.

my house smells like cooking chicken. I have yet to mop my floors from sunday, so i feel dirty. however, i would much rather sit here reading Stephen King, taking BYC breaks, taking de-boning breaks and watch the rain than mop the floor. the silkie was baked, boiled and put in the crock pot. i know it's over cooking. i just want the meat off for the dog and kitten

. the other unmentionable number of birds have been quartered (well, one fryer left whole) and the carcasses are simmering in a big lobster type pot. There is SO MUCH MEAT!!

oh, and the other meaties seem to understand their raison d'etre. Perhaps the blood and axe left in the garden was their clue? Oh yeah, and even though we did an awesome job cleaning, guess what we left in the garden? The bag of heads!!! Yep, that was a frozen surprise monday morning. I'm so shocked to not have bears, coyotes and others getting all these leftovers!

OOps. We forgot to cleanup outside.

MNC, I have so many birds too. My mom came over yesterday to
help Drum go through all his winter and summer clothes (Love Moms/

). I sent her home with at least 60 pounds of chicken and
turkey to put in her freezer. We still have a turkey, 2 cornish, and one fryer
we had to cull yesterday, all in the fridge.

Time to fire up the oven and start scanning MissPrissy's recipes.

Yeah, it's definitely time for some recipes. especially recipes for meat that we've boiled off the bone. you can only have so much soup!! oh yeah, two whole turkeys in the freezer too.

i have 3 turkeys, 2 cornish and 3 fryers left for ctwinterstock. and maybe some duck l'orange .
