Processing Cornish x Rocks, when?

Another. I will have had these 5 weeks tomorrow. No idea how old they were when we got them, but certainly less than a week.

Here's one with a barred rock of the same age in the background. If these are leghorns, as advertised, the barred rocks are bantams.

Still on chick starter. About to change over to a grower with higher protein that a friend of mine makes at their feed mill.

Do you have any problems raising them on wire? I've always heard not to, but I'm going to start brooding mine on wire, so I'm not changing chips every other minute.

Haven't had any problems, and tough crap for them if I do. I wanted leghorns.

I have a bed of sawdust under the cage to catch the crap which I will then compost and put on my garden. Actually the more crap, the better.
