I'm looking for a processing facility, or someone who does the dirty end of raising meat birds, but I don't know how to locate one locally, if there even is one locally. What would I search for online...since the phrase "poultry processing" has got me nowhere fast. Also during deer season there are signs up outside peoples houses saying deer processing, so are there individuals that would do this for a fee and is that even legal? I want it done as humanely as possible and I want them to be clean. I'm not selling the birds just want some for the family and maybe a few friends. I'm thinking I'll call the local feed store after the holiday but if they don't know I'm not sure who to call after that.

If there are Amish around you they will do it pretty cheap. Michigan has a dense Amish pop. don't they. In our area they will process and cut up and bag for 2$ a bird. You can call a hatchery in your area, which I do believe Townline is based in Michigan, They should know. Hope that helped some.

a lot of local processing places will do it for you I've heard. there's always the option of going to the feed store and asking around. do any of your neighbors have chickens, they might do it for you for a few bucks
