Think of it this way. The quail was raised for this purpose. It had a great life, much better than factory-farmed chickens you buy at the grocery store. That was its purpose in life. It wasn't like a pet or anything.

OK, bsaffles, I'm going to go easy here because I have read your other
posts and like you.

A lot of people raise quail for food, in addition to pets, just like chickens.
It is not mean to give a quail a quick painless death, especially when
most quail are used for target practice by hunters.

Quail meat is very good and the feed to meat ration is extraordinary,
actually better than chickens I believe.

Be careful not to get wrapped up in the meat bird debates. They usually
end badly.

Please take this as friendly advice from someone here who knows you
are a goodhearted dude who may be perceiving this thread as something
it is not.
