Processing question

I suggest dilute a powdered soap in the water and wash the blood to remove the smell

I do what bigred does (I need a button on my BYC reply page that just says this every time, "I do what bigred does."). Wheelbarrow and dump it off behind the barn away from the coop. I put a layer of pine shavings in the wheelbarrow to soak up the blood. If it attracts predators there aren't any more than actually keeping chickens has already.

Good idea, thanks!

I may just add it to my composter. With all the chicken poo, maybe no animal will smell the blood.

Since all predators depend on their sence of smell, sight, heat and/or sound to find it's next meal they will pick up the tiniest molecule of the prey's scent and home in on it hoping for a feast. The scent of blood is like an engraved invitation for an eeaaasy kill and meal so they will make haste for the source.
