Producer's Pride Defender Chicken Coop

Let me know how this PP set up is. I am thinking about this whole setup or else adding a rugged ranch or retriever —TSC brand outdoor run to my existing set up. I will have four hens for it. I like them to have a lot of space as they can only free range supervised due to neighbor issues.

I bought one and liked it. I bought another one and the 5 X 10 Retriever Kennel. The Kennel has 6 5’ panels.
I spaced the two PP coops 15 feet apart and used 3 panels across the back and three in the front to create a 10’ X 15’ run between the two. I had to buy 8 more of the Kennel panel brackets from Home Depot ($6 a pair). The
Retriever Kennel has two removable squares to add a coop if wanted and a door panel. I will cover the run later, currently only using only one of the coops. The Kennel panels match very well with PP coop/ pens. They run the PP coops for 799 once a year usually. Compared to other coops with runs I have had, this has been the best quality for the cost. I like it so far.

Thanks for your response! Your setup sounds perfect. How Did you predator proof it— did you cover the entire floor area of the run or just around the fence panels? The PP run has a fenced roof, correct?

Just outside around the coop and run. I want the chickens to scratch and dig in the pen. Yes run is covered and coop door can be open and shut standard from outside the coop and pen if one wants to be extra secure shutting it at night.

I stare at that thing weekly when I go get bedding. Its cool, but to make it completely predator proof you will need to invest several more blue Benjamin's. The wire used as you can see is absolutely huge and was obviously meant for a dog kennel. The coop however much I like the design is rather small for the quantity you are talking about. Ever though of building a cheap and simple hoop coop?

I find it to be the best commercial answer I've found. I live on a creek and have an abundance of every North American predators visiting nightly. No problem so far, my neighbors wish they could say that. I do shut the coop door at night though for my piece of mind. My main add was clipping 2 foot high 1/2" hardware cloth all the way around the inside. buried concrete reinforcement wire outside perimeter to 2.5'. have a broke arm and dislocated elbow and subfreezing weather so pictures this morning are of highest quality my good meds allow.

what are the red arbor looking panels on the side across from the coop? Looks like for planting shade

That side faces South and yes to grow vining plants on, I put 1/2” hardware cloth between the vines/leaves and pen as high as chickens can reach so they don’t eat what they shouldn’t health wise and to insure there is shade that lives lol.

@jbf16falcon How many chickens do you have? This looks great. Did you make an apron of hw cloth along the bottom?
