What is the difference between Production Reds and Cherry Eggers? I keep reading that they are both Rhode Is. Red and NH Red crosses. Is there a difference?

Most "cherry eggers" that I've seen are RIR.

I think production red is more of a generic term and Cherry Eggers are from a specific hatchery. Like black sex-links being generic, Black Stars being from McMurray.
