25 CX can be expected to eat around 400-450 lbs of feed in 8 weeks. Use that as your feed cost as you should feed them a 20-22% protein mix (as opposed to the 18% or less your layers eat). I just paid $105 for 500 lbs of non-certified organic feed so maybe you can get it for $80. $1.84 per chick + $3.20 in feed + infrastructure costs (building a brooder or tractor, heat lamps, plucker, processing equip., etc can be amortized over several batches but wood shavings, etc. will be with each batch) and you are likely around $6 in costs per bird. Your birds could average 4 1/2 - 5lbs so at $2.25/lb you are making $4-5 per bird
