Hi everyone,

I was thinking of starting a Project to create my own black crested white polish line. They don't have any in my country and was wondering where to start? I also have limited options of other breeds of chickens i can get so i was thinking of crossing a buff polish with a moorhead silkie or/ a Lakenvelder if i can get them. will the lacing be a problem?

I would start with a few birds from people already working on the project. There is a thread here from someone that is working on the project. If no one is where you are Ill see what I can find on this forum to help.

If not in the US at least the thread posted has some info on where to start. I know Silver Laced Polish is in that mix and Silver spangled Spitzhauben were used here to bolster the survivability of them at a hatchery. I would go with silver based moorhead colored birds. Moorhead is the black head they carry. It's the charcoal gene that causes it. So, more research into that maybe helpful.
