Project: Long tailed EE

Longtailed EE are going to be on the back burner. Ill be sticking with the Crested EE for now. I just have to many chickens. Going to bring my Phoenix total down to six. The silkies I have are going to be sold as well. I have to get the feed bill down along with project numbers. I'm much farther along on the Crested EE than the Longtailed EE so the focus will be on the Crested. I need to get the crested project down to just blue and green eggs before going on to a new project.

The other group I'll be keeping will be the Silver Ameraucana. I worked so hard to find them and get the eggs to hatch. Ill stick to them as my base Ameraucana that will feed into the Crested when I need to.

Old English Game Bantams and Dutch will be staying in a limited quantity as I absolutely love the personality's of them. Don't tell the Silkie people but I think they are better than Silkies. :D

Its a sad decision but I just don't have the infrastructure or the money to keep going like I am. I just can't keep up and Its been weighing on me alot more than I thought. My mixed bantams will be going tomorrow with a lady I trust.

I hope once I'm back on track Ill be able to add Phoenix back into my crested longtailed EE project in the future.

I’m so sad to hear this but I think it will be great to carry on with the crested EE project. Sorry if you already said, but were you intending to someday have a crested AND long tailed EE? Or were you always going to keep them as separate projects?

I am sad about the silkies of course lol but you have to keep your favorites, I completely understand!! Do you by chance have any photos of your silkies though? I had always wanted to see if they were blue based or lavender based blue creams!

Yup was going to combine the two projects. So once I get the Crested EE to the point of them always laying blue or green eggs I'll bring in the Phoenix.

For the silkies I'll get some pictures of them all and post to this thread.
