Projectile Pooping

Well, the wierd thing is that I don't see any other kind of poop other than the "nasty" stuff - and it's nasty.  The covered run has shavings in it, and they have stayed very clean.  The problem with her movements is that anything behind her is getting tagged.  I had just put fresh food in for the little guys yesterday when all of a sudden - woosh, all over the food.  So I had to throw it out and wash the container.  Today it was woosh - partly onto one of her kids.

Anyhow, maybe it will always be that way .... but I HOPE NOT!  :)

Woosh :lau as I was reading I couldn't help but exaggerate that sound wooooooshhh! :lau
It could be the dreaded "Every 7th poop" also called the cepal poop.  For some reason (I'll have to look that one up) it seems every 7th poop or so it really wet, really dark, and extra smelly...  The Projectile part you are referring to is often lovingly called "Explodobutting" lol.  One Joe, aka Duck_feeder was holding Victor duck when he decided to explodobutt, straight up in the air, all over joe....  I was amused, but joe was not, lol.

:lau explodobutting I gotta remember that one! Quackers has done that to me before. When he was smaller I'd let him sit on my shoulder. Huge mistake! All I heard right in my ear was, well kinda hard to explain lol. A woosh/splat/poof/squirt... sound lol. Then the feeling of warm dark brown ooze dribble down my chest. so gross, I just froze didn't know whether to laugh or run to clean up. Think I was just frozen in shock that something like that can come out of something so cute & fluffy lol.

Lol at some of the mental images I've got from this thread!

I've got a big Campbell who started to hold her poop in at night around the time I had some broody ducks.
This was 3 months ago and there's no sign of her going back to normal; every morning she runs out of the coop and erupts within ten paces!
It sounds like the biggest wettest fart in the history of bum burps and is accompanied by a jet of slurry that could take your eye out at 20 yards :)

Look on the bright side - at least she's not doing it in the coop; imagine how much more often you'd be cleaning out...

Yeah...you'd be amazed how much air duckling poop can get. I think Wobbles' record is 16 inches when she was just a week old - was holding her upside down and true to Murphy's Law, straight up and out it went, landing smack on my shirt!
