Prolapse or growth?

I thought it was a prolapsed vent. I gave her a soak in warm water with Epson salts, cleaned her up and examined her. I was horrified once I realized how large the mass is. Vet asked me to send pics (not a chicken vet). She thinks its a growth or infection but from the location, I'm not convinced. Coco is behaving completely normal and has been laying eggs. The vet suggested that since she is behaving normally and if its a growth, realistically we aren't going to treat it, that I should just let nature take its course. At least while she is behaving normally. Thoughts?

It's not clear from the photos, lack of context, where on the chicken this tumor is. Is it where the vent should be? Is it on the tail? The closeups are terrific, but a photo of the chicken in a normal stance to show us where this thing is would be helpful. All we see is a bunch of wet feathers with a balloon like thing sticking out of them.

I've had experience with prolapses, and they are not that large. It must be a tumor.

Is this chicken pooping? I can't believe she can lay eggs. Is there a watery discharge? How about the other chickens bothering the mass?

Poor baby Girl.:(
I wonder if it hurts her.
So sad.
Is the tumor soft?

Crazy enough, it doesn't seem to hurt her. It feels rather soft. She didn't complain to me feeling it and cleaning her. Her vent is right on the edge of the bottom of the mass. You can kind of see it on the pink fleshy, non feathered part of her body above the tail feathers.
Yes she is pooping normally and everything else is normal. She has been enjoying free ranging the backyard. My other girls aren't bothering her.
I put her in an old rabbit cage and have her in my office. I'm taking her to the vet in the morning. I'm just hoping I'll be taking her home afterwards.

True.

OP, let us know how the vet appointment goes! Praying you get good news.
I was wondering about a hernia.
The funny thing about her eggs is the shape has changed in the last week. She always lays these really round spherical shaped eggs and the last week they have become more typical oval shaped eggs.
Thanks everyone, I'll post an update when I get home this evening.

Coco is still at the vet. They said she is really sweet and laid an egg. The vet thinks its either a cyst or a hernia. She is nervous to drain it in case it isn't a cyst and then may not stop draining. They were slammed all day at the clinic and she wanted more time to look at it after hours. It sounded hopeful, fingers crossed. I'll update tomorrow.
