I posted a few days ago about my prolapsed chicken. I have been trying preparation h and replacing the prolapse several times a day...but it is getting smaller. (It reappears when she defacates). At first the tissue was bright red and wet looking........nowthe center appears more of a light pink and somewhat drier...... Is this a sign of healing? The result of the preparation H? Or is the tissue dying? Any suggestions.......the only avian vet in the area is out of town until next week :-(
It just occured to me that I have been putting the preparation H on the prolapsed area before reinserting it. Is that right or am I supposed to just be using it externally? Could that have damaged the tissue?
