Wondering if she has a infestation of worms? Which could of caused the prolapse? Just guessing on what would have caused the blood?
Update and need help still.I have a 11/2 year old brahma. A few days ago I noticed she was laying in the rain, lethargic, not eating, depressed.....I immediately took her inside to inspect. I quarantined her, noticed her droppings had blood in it and all signs pointed to coccidiosis. Started her and everyone on corrid. After 24-48 hours she perked up eating seemed better. On the 3rd day I noticed a lot if blood in her back end, feathers and vent along with a prolapsed vent which was purple in color ( black and blue). I have since soaked, cleaned, took away food and treating her with Enrofloxacin just in case of infection inside along with probiotics, electrolytes, small amounts cracked corn, and no more then a few hours of light. She is alert, healthy, eating some not much and is not egg bound. I push vent back in, but it stays for a bit then pops back out again. I have used Preparation H and honey around her vent. Is it possible to have her vent stitched? She had layed from time to time extremely large eggs, possibly damaging her vent from strain, hereditary, prone to????. Any suggestions?
I am and have done all kinds of procedures on my chickens, e.g. ( Ascities removal of fluid, egg bound, bumble foot, etc....... ) I am not new to illnesses of all kinds just need help on making a decision on what's best giving her any chance of some recovery outcome.
Please see attached photos
Thank you!!

Still prolapsed!! I have been keeping her cleaned and continue to push vent back in throughout the day. It has become white in color and when I insert it back into her it feels like a dried up mass inside of her. There is no egg inside, she is clean inside. Her vent doesn't even look like a vent which would be pink and moist. I have been keeping it lubricated. I switch off from PREPARATION H, to honey to Vaseline, to antibiotic cream. My vet was reluctant to stitch it due to other complications. She did give me a antibiotic for her. She is alert, eating, moving about in her quarantined area. Tries to escape every chance she gets. Again no egg bound just the vent not staying in. She does poop. Still runny, but only because I haven't been giving her a ton of food in the beginning. Any suggestions or help on what to continue to do? I have read every post, thread, YouTube videos possible. Greatly appreciated!
Please see recent pics from this morning also first pictures from before.
Thanks!
Hard to know what the dried mass is inside. Could be dried fecal matter, egg membrane or something else.Update and need help still.

Yes, it never looked normal. There is and was no egg involved with this prolapsed. I inserted my finger pretty far up in side of her and I can feel her tube,? she is clean inside no egg, or broken shell, nothing. At the end of her tube is her vent assuming I'm saying it correctly which feels and looks like a dried up mass. ( shown in pic) She is pooping out of her vent which is on the outside normal poop. Eating like crazy and wants to desperately go outside for a bit. I have done everything possible. Didn't know if you thought it could be something else on her prolapsed vent? I will try the different oil's.Hard to know what the dried mass is inside. Could be dried fecal matter, egg membrane or something else.
The white caked on material is likely urates. You can try coconut or mineral oil to see if that helps soften that material on the outside.
The photos on the first post, the tissue does look odd. I think all you can do at this point is continue with the care and see if it will eventually stay in. Sometimes tissue is stretched or damage beyond repair. It really stinks to put a hen down due to prolapse, but I have had to in the past.

Just a update. I was persistent and continued to reinsert her vent daily and I'm happy to say that it has stayed in for 2 days now. I don't know the long term if she will lay again or if it will come out again, etc, but as of now she is okay.... I looked up crystal urates and that is what it looked like. I will continue to update as she progresses. Thank you again. I always continue to learn a lot for you all.I would agree that the white could be urates, but that doesn’t look good at all. The mass inside could be lash egg material or a tumor, but hard to know for sure. A lot of things may become more clear if the hen dies, and a necropsy could be done. I hope that you don’t lose her, but it does happen.
