But what doesn't look good about a guy in a kilt... that's the best look, imo!

I guess for me I think you can take any look and dress it up to make it prom appropriate. By appropriate I mean "dress up" not "everyday" attire.

Oh, and I'm a Tomboy - jeans and t-shirts all the way..shorts if it's warm enough. My mom couldn't get me in a dress! BUT, There is a time and place for everything. At prom, I wore a dress - at graduation and Baccalaureate, I wore a dress. A formal occasion demands formal attire.

In my opinion, you should go with what you feel good in...as long as adults don't through you out.... if a girl isn't comfortable in a dress I see no problem with the suit option, and a guy in jeans but nice shirt and suit jacket isn't so bad, I saw both at my prom the guy even wore converse shoes....it was fun isn't that the real point?

Personally I wouldn't wear any of that. Having said that it is their prom and as long as they don't have parts hanging out and they are comfortable with it then let them have fun.

I would be totally uncomfortable if I was forced to wear what someone else wanted. If I am uncomfortable then I won't have fun and if your not going to enjoy it then you might as well save yourself the money, time, and headache and just stay home.

I think they ought to be able to wear what they like and feel comfortable in......rather than having to spend big bucks on a dress or tux they'll never wear again.
