pronounce wyandotte

I love this thread.

I agree with Cynthia. But i also end up cutting out the middle syllable. In Texan, it's something like wahndot, but that's not right either.

I'm an ol' hotrodder from back in the old school days and they had a company that made intake manifolds called Weiand, its pronounced why-and. But you should've heard some of the conglomerations of names that little word invented.

Another one on here that gets a lot of unusual mispellings and absurd uses is Australorp, sometimes it's just best to smile and go on

I am so glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I hear it too many ways to know whats right, and I always want to add an extra syllable.

Being in Texas....I usually go with the wine dot version.
