Props to the HovaBator Genesis 1588 w/automatic turner!

Preset temp is 100 degrees on the HovaBator. I've not touched it at all and am on my 4th hatch (% hatch rates have been AWESOME with my own backyard eggs).
The only weird thing is that I don't count day 1 as day 0 as most people do. If I set the eggs on a Wednesday at 5:00pm, my seem to hatch 21 days later on that Tuesday evening. First two hatches, I tried labeling the "set" day as day 0 as most suggested, and they wound up hatching day "early."
Either way, it works great on the factory presets for me. Don't want to fix what ain't broke ;)

I put 4 accurite thermometer / hygrometers in one of my incubators. ... they all read the same humidity... 10 above the digital one on the incubator. That is frustrating.

I bought my first Genesis 1588 in 2012. Liked it so well I bought 2 more in 2013. I was using my little giant as a hatcher and having lots of deaths the last 3 days... installed a new thermostat in it... then sold it when I bought my 4th Genesis in 2014.

What is a good temperature humidity gauge that is trustworthy and accurate that wont cost a ton of money?
I am not impressed with the accurite ones that cost around $9

Hi snaffle,I thought you might be a good one to ask this question! I also have 3 Genesis and my new one had a different control panel. It has red triangles with buttons sticking out.Well that one would never get to the point where it would hold temp and start flashing like the other two. It would heat up to 100 then shut off go down to 92 or 93 then turn on again. I was wondering what yours are like? Thank you!

I would love to see a picture of the control panel of this newest version if you could post it. Since it didn't work right did you send it back to GQF?

I am sorry I was gone when you posted the questions. Glad to see you got the problem taken care of.

I have 4 Genesis 1588 and replaced the thermostats on 2 of them this year. I was going to suggest that you call them and talk to a technician.

When I put in my first replacement thermostat (which has those tiny red buttons) the unit would not heat ... even after 4 hours. I was so mad... called the factory and talked to a technician...I felt so stupid after talking to him... there was something I did not hook um... he explained it to me and when I connected it ...
the incubator immediately began to warm up. lol

The light blinds when the incubator heater is heating up. Otherwise it is off.

None of the humidity readers on my Genesis match.. I bought a good humidity reader and checked each one and they are all off. I double checked the incu-therm thermometer/hygometer using the salt/water/plastic bag method and it was right on for humidity .

Hope you get everything working better with yours. It can be very frustrating when they dont work right.

So is what you are saying is the light doesn't blink on and off when it has reached correct temp?My other two like the bottem picture. When they build up to temp. then the red light flashes on and off and the temp stays pretty stable!

Oh my gosh I was wrong! I was sure I had reading in the owner's manual that when the light was blinking the unit was heating.

I just googled for the owner's manual and it says when the light begins blinking regularly, the incubator is nearing it's set point.

Bad me. Bad bad me.

Oh no your not bad! I just can't figure out if maybe the new bator is some how different then my other two. The new one never gets to the blinking part and it has been running since sat.morning.It just cycles. It will heat up to 100 then the light goes off and it drops down to 99.2 then back to 100!
