i am looking for info on hatching. I have laid eggs down on there side before and hatched eggs, my concern was always as a chick is piping through another chick would knock the egg around and the peep will end up drowning. Now i have tried hatching in the egg carton and i notice cleanup is a breeze. But, when i was taking the eggs out that didn't hatch, i noticed 2 piped near the bottom, they never made it. My eggs are always stored pointy side down, same for hatching and my humidity was at 76% during lockdown. I guess what im looking for is how does everyone else do theres??Im wondering which was is better? Thank you for your time.

I have seen many use both methods. I prefer laying them down. I have hatched my Button Quail in a quail flat and clean up was a breeze. I was told though, to never hatch them in a plastic or foam carton. Only use the paper ones.

I used the paper carton but im not sure if its the way to go.
