I've ordered twice and all chicks/keets survived with extras. They did send me more males and fewer females than I ordered (NOT straight run) with the 2nd order. I ordered 6 brown leghorn females and 1 male....ended up with 4 and 3.

I have to agree with a previous poster that the silkies I ordered had a good amount of crossbeak or beaks that were crooked..

But I will disagree with their straight run. I ordered 3 different straight runs one they gave me 1 roo with 6 or 7 hens of one breed, another breed they gave me 2 roos with around 13 hens, and another one was about 60% females and 40% males. So I dont agree they give you more males with straight run. On other orders from them I also felt like straight run was 50/50 too 👍 thats my experience

Heres some various pics of cackles birds I had on my phone

How many did you order? Did they arrive ok? How's the quality of the birds? Ya know, the usual nosy questions, lol.
I think I ordered 8 and received 10 and didn't loose any in shipping or to sickness. Got rid of 3 roo's and the one I kept liked to bully my other roo's so I hatched a "replacement" lol he seems to be lower on the aggressive side with my other birds. None were aggressive to people. Mainly I got them for the barred gene to breed into the Lieges I have. Liege are the 2 odd balls in the 2nd picture. 3rd picture is the 1st cross between them

I ordered chicks from them in May. I believe we ordered about 20 or so and more than half died within 24 hours. They didn't want to send replacement chicks. I only get chicks now from Orschelns and ours uses Hoover Hatchery. They have been really healthy birds for the most part.

I know a lot of hatcheries won't send replacements if the total number is under the minimum.

Okay, so I have a few more questions.
I'm going with cackle.

I'm getting 15 ducklings, about how many extra's will they send? And do the extra's live? If so, are the extra's the same breed(s) I ordered? And will the extras turn out to be males? Or do they send females as extras? And do I need to insist on a heat pack?

Thanks again!

Well, the extras will live if they do well in shipping. They're just extra birds, that's it.

Usually extras are males.

As for how many, who knows. I've never got extra birds in my shipments with any hatchery, but some people get a ton
