I am new to chickens and you all have been soooo helpful-let me start by saying thank you!!! My question-Daphne has definitely turned out to be Donald. My chickens are almost 3 months old. I have 3 hens and the rooster. What do I do??? At this point all is going well. I am concerned that I do not have enough hens for him so he will just beat up the girls? Any advice??? I hate getting rid of him prematurely and having him end up as someone's dinner:(

well, no need to make an immediate decision. if he starts being hard on your hens, then get rid of him, if he turns mean towards you, then get rid of him, if he is too noisy for the neighbors or even you........ you might have to get rid of him, but then again....... you might get a gem.

If his antics against female flockmates proves irritating you can also isolate him in a pen for another 3 months or so until he comes into mature feathers, Upon release he should be a little more dignified in treatment of females and they will have matured as well.
