Pros and Cons of quail?

I'm sorry, but pharaoh is a colour, not a species. Coturnix japonica and coturnix coturnix are the ones that we've domesticated and are interbreedable.

But Japanese quail have been bred to be bigger than Pharaoh the color is the same though. Pharaoh is the original

The seller has a white one in the photos

I will warn you, white quail are known for having a short lifespan and health problems (something to do with inbreeding I think). I have no experience with this though.

I think, I could be wrong I read that online and there seems to be a lot of misinformation, like quail dont like to fly (mine love to fly)

It depends on the bird. Most of mine are lazy and don't fly far, but I've had a couple fly 50', then over my house never to be seen again.

I keep mine in 20 square foot pens on the ground. Sometimes when I open the top to feed them, one will try to escape. They rarely make it, but that one...

Quail don't come home, so they stay in their pens all the time, but I move their pens around now and then. They get my fallow garden beds during fall/winter, and weedy/grassy areas during spring/summer.

I've had quail for about 2.5 years now. I'm still a beginner.

I know how that one works do they have indoor and outdoor space in their pen mine do in their W6x L12x H6ft pen and I have to lock them up at night so weasels dont kill them all again

Ive only had quail 9-10 months any advice you have to give would be great (for all reading this)

When I first started raising gamebirds, it was quail. Back then there was only one color available in the states, Pharaoh, and that is what everyone called them back then, (1967) not Coturnix.
