Prospects for growing own rabbit food?

It would make sense that, in general, of the three (cattle, deer, and rabbit disks) rabbit and deer would be the most similar, since precursors to domesticated rabbits shared the same habitats as deer.

I thought about posting this here, since others may be curious.

I was reading last night, a book that had a section about growing and harvesting your own hay. The book is called "The Resilient Gardener". Anyway, the author talks about the nutritional level of grass, at different growth stages. If you want the optimal nutrition in your hay, you must harvest after flowering but before seed heads are formed. Of course, everything must be very dry too, otherwise mold sets in. It was very informative for me. I never knew that grass reaches its nutritional peak once it flowers, and goes downhill quickly after that.
