Protecting a wood floor?

Pics
I am a little late on the thread, but we had a coop build with composite decking 6 years ago and it is perfect. Boards are placed close together but it still drains. Traction is much better than linoleum for bird safety, easy to clean, does not fall apart or delaminate. I am looking at plans for houses that have more ventilation than this one but one definite for us is the composite floor.

I used porch and floor paint from Home Depot.
I put 2 coats to my 8x14 coop and 5 years later it is still holding up well.
Same with me…we built our coop going on 5 years now. I put on 2 coats of True Value Floor & Porch
( water base) paint, I also caulked around all the boards/corners / cracks etc, wherever a pesky mite, flea etc. might want to hide. It cleans up great whether you use bedding or sand. I now use sand & I love it, poop scooping is a breeze now.
