Protruding throat!! Help Please!

I agree, I cant find anything to help, her crop is ok right? either vet or try treating with some antibotics or what they treat for mereks. No other suggestions, I dont do the vet stuff, so I would try what is cheapest first.... : ( I try sulmet water aditive first, treats bacteria you can look that up, you treat in the water 4 days its easy and only 10 bucks.

oh I was reading about mold issues, mold is bad for chickens.... had they gotten into moldy stuff or food? bedding??

It may just be tumors : (

We won't take her to the vet. What happens will happen, but we'll do what we can.

Her crop seems ok but I still haven't seen her tongue. It's the strangest thing.

No molds, I've been fermenting all of their food, but I tried putting out a little dry crumples the other day hoping she could get it down easier. She hasn't touched the wet food, presumably because the dry it goes down easier.

I haven't tried sulmet, actually never heard of it but may get some soon. We put Apple Cider Vinegar in the water as well.

Thanks for your help Sally.

I hope its just a passing thing for her, life throws some strange stuff sometimes, but at least we can try!

Well, poor little hookbeak didn't make it. She looked like she was doing ok physically, but felt like she weighed about 1/3 of the others. I don't think she was getting enough to eat even though she spent all day at the feeding trough and we put out wet feed, dry feed, fed scraps every now and then and threw out grains most days.

Our 4yo daughter said a little prayer that brought tears to my eyes.

Anyway, thank you Sally for your help.

awwwww

Thanks for the links Sally. We have started trimming her beak and plan to continue that on a weekly basis and we just so happen to have your two feeding hints covered, only by accident though. I will pay closer attention to see if there's anything else we can do to better help her.

Do you have any ideas about her throat? Does anyone else have any ideas about her throat?

Thanks again,
Hello! I have a chick with the exact same issue! Her beak and throat. The lump in her throat is her tongue. My chick is now 15 weeks and it is getting in the way of her breathing. She hass been 1/2 size of her sisters but still happy and eating. Her tongue is blocking her airway tho and now we are back to wondering what to do to help her. But that what's the lump is.
