Providing shade in the run with bamboo?

My chicken run is in full sun and while thinking up shade ideas the hubs and I came across an ad for bamboo and thought this might be a good plan. However bamboo is prolific if left to its own so I was wondering if this may be a viable option since the chickens may eat the new shoots? Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Go to Lowe's or home depot they sell bamboo screen fencing, just unroll it and secure to the outside of the run, it will keep the rain out and provide shade.
