I candled Franny's eggs just now and the 2 are developing great! The ducklings are SO big in there! I also saw movement! This is so exciting. I think she may have a week and a few days left.

so exciting , I candled my ducks eggs and they are veining nicely but I have till end of May till we see lil quackers.. you need to join the Broody duck thread..

Franny is still sitting on her eggs! When I candled them she was biting me! She is a very protective momma! The 2 eggs are looking very full but I didn't get to see movement in them. I hope they're still alive. It looks like she has several days to a week left!

once the egg fills up with ducklings it's hard for them to move much so you may not see movement. Keep us updated.

I don't see anything yet, but Franny is still sitting! Also, one egg is missing. I'm not sure if she ate it or it's buried in straw or it was just hiding, but I didn't see it! Also have 2 hens (chickens) that just started to sit on Tuesday

Well I have some bad news. I noticed that THREE of Franny's eggs were missing out of her nest. I looked in the coop and I saw some cracked open with a duckling in it (I think dead). Why did she open them up and kill them? Was it my fault from candling them? How do I break her broodiness? Also, the other 2 eggs under her are dead.
