They'd still have some basics. I'm concerned, since she did successfully aspirate it, and did find a collection of pus, that it's more than just a sinus infection. My experience (with mammals, granted) is that a deep collection of pus is some sort of abscess... I'd think a sinus infection would be limited to inflammation and mucus in the sinuses?

Well yes and NO, from the pic the nostrils look clear except the first pic, he was an awful mess but that's because he had some mud around him. LOL, So A sinus infection would definitely be Questionable...

I would be looking more into it, such as Ears, EYES is there bubbles or white gooy stuff coming out of it? Look inside the Mouth? What does that look like? Smelling him, smell his breath? etc... Is there any other signs, like staggering while walking. how is he in the water? Does he swim OK. Is he eating, is he cleaning his own nose, is he activite. ETC.. I mean the more information the better and I just feel like there's not enough information before making any calls.

It's interesting that the condition recurred, even after the aspiration and a course of antibiotics. I would have thought that treatment would heal an abscess or a sinus infection, whichever it was. Could their be some allergen in the duck's environment causing another flare-up? Or could there be a foreign body still stuck in there?

EXACTLY, there's to many Unanswered questions to make the right call.... there's to many open options here..and less information

Actually, unlikely to be a foreign body since its on both sides. Should we consider aspergillosis? Fungus infection?

Nope I would say Sinus infection but would need more info. I wonder if she tried to squeeze the checks to see if anything comes out of the Nostrils?? My guess probably... that right there would tell you sinus infections.

I also wonder what Tylan she is using such as 200 or 50. I also would NOT recommend injecting it into him, injecting tylan is Rough on there muscles. But Tylan can be giving Oral which would work better for him. but would need his weight in order to determine how much.. So there's just to many questions I best better stop.. LOL

In my opinion, tylan is too weak for a recurrent
infection.....I would suggest an Rx from a vet. I personally have no problems as operating the pus...have done it many time...usually with turkeys.

Oh wow I have been in the hay field all day boy I've missed alot I'm going to try to answer all the questions hope I don't miss anything his face was already swollen when we got him. We aspirated this time not the first time so I don't think it's environmental. I am using tylan 200 I did the injectable because I was told it would work better and faster I'm learning as I go and trying to do the best I can by him. We wound up getting 7 cc ' s of pus out of his face. He has no discharge at all his eyes are clear his mouth looks good no coughing sneezing or anything like that. He eats well drinks well and chases his girls all over the place so he acts like he feels fine. We did squeeze his checks and nothing leaked out of his eyes or nose, it did make his eyes bulge. It was squishy and not at all hard.[@]Lacrystol what kind of pictures do you need

I'm so disheartened came home and his face is swelling again I really don't know what to do.

It does seem there is still something in there - sinuses, or ear perhaps - that is causing the flareups.

It's odd that its not draining down the nostril. I mean its odd that there is the build up in the first place. But it's extra odd that its not draining. Something blocking the way? But if the duck is breathing without wheezing then there is no blockage I would imagine. So why not draining?

How do you check the ears? I compared him to one of my other girls and everything looks the same. Inside his mouth and his nares. I appreciate the help this is my first set of ducks ever
