Hi all!
One of my lovely sash chickens is looking a bit worse for wear. She was fine yesterday, laid no problem and seemed ok this morning when I let them out, but when I went into the coop this afternoon to check on food and water she just stat in a corner of the run. (they normally come rushing up to me because I bring them treats!)
She is very puffed up and looks like she is straining to pass something. She is still moving around a fair bit - I struggled catching her because she kept running away from me!) but when I did get a hold of her she was clearly quite uncomfortable.
There is some discolouration around her vent and she is straining very hard (even when I was holding her) but her tail is still up. I had a feel around, but she didn't seem to be egg bound so I gave her a bit of a massage to see if I could get things moving. I put her down and she passed a very small guano. She is also a bit off her food. She nibbled at some bits that I offered her but wasn't even interested when I offered her some grain which is very unusual for her. She had some grit the other day so I don't think it is an issue with her calcium levels but I am at a bit of a loss!
Have attached a picture!
