Pullet acting like rooster when I have a rooster in flock already

I have a bossy pullet, she used to be aggressive toward me, pecking, fluffing herself up broadside at me, and one time she attempted to flog me, I saw on a post here to hold them upside down by their legs and put them under your arm like a football for about a minute. I did that a few times and she doesn't maliciously peck me any more. She still broadside stances me at a distance but doesn't approach.

Maybe that would work for you too?
I may try the whole holding like a football thing this next time and hold her for a while. She will definitely fluff herself up next to me too. This little pullet is such a brat lol

Love her? Well, you could be scared of her if you want. I had a Golden Comet hen who had spurs, but not sharp ones. It turned out to be a genetic flaw because she had two daughters and both of them had spurs and again, not sharp ones. Golden Comets can be aggressive. When I had three of them they would often times go after my bantam rooster and fight with the poor guy until either me or their rooster broke it up. I must agree with @2ndTink . I had a very mean rooster once and every time he tried to attack me, I would pick him up and he stopped attacking me after a few times of doing that.

I’m not scared of her, I just get irritated with her pecking at me. I’m definitely going to try and just keep picking her up for lengths of time. I definitely don’t think I’ll get this breed in the future

It's actually kinda sad that she had to ruin it for you. I've seen some with sweet personalities. Have you wondered if she's not trying to be aggressive, but is trying to get you to give her treats? Some chickens ask for treats in strange ways.

I must have gotten lucky, my Golden Comets are super sweet and not aggressive at all. They weren't handled as chicks, they came from a chicken house that raised layers and would sell at POL. They were the bottom of the pecking order until I just added 2 more 19 wk old pullets a week or so ago, but they aren't overly mean to them, just let them know their place. They lay eggs like little machines, they rarely miss a day. They are probably 35 to 40 weeks now.

Same. My comets are very sweet. Never had a problem with any of them.

Maybe your girl is just a feisty one.🙃

Now that you say that it might be the case...then when I pick her I’m pissing her off lol

Well hopefully she chills out, this pullet is the bottom of the pecking order too so I’m surprised she pecks so much

This could also be the problem. She is bottom of the pecking order so maybe she is asserting dominance over the only thing she can- YOU. 🤷🏻‍♀️
