Pullet bottom concerns..... very worried!!!!

you should soak your hen with epsom salts . make sure she gets dry get some blue kote and put on that area it will help keep the hens from pecking. also i dont know but it looked like blood on the perch . you may want to clean that up too .i would keep an eye on her
I’m going to try to find some blue kote, I’m also finding the guilty girl has been doing this to a few other coop mates. One of them was the very first to give us an egg. Her feathers are starting to grow back. I guess I’m going to be soaking some chick butts and dying them today. Also, there isn’t any blood on the roost. I think it’s the texture of the wood, but I’ll triple check when I get out there to clean out the coop.

Wound near vent, I actually caught the bird in action that’s doing it. It’s one of my BR. She’s not only doing it to her but to 2 others as well. Is this a nutrition thing? Boredom thing? I’m so confused
Might nutrition, crowding, or just a meanassbird.
Keeping the wound clean and covered with some antibiotic ointment should do the trick. Rinse with saline then add the ointment.
Blukote will obscure the wound, making it hard to keep and eye in it's healing.

Knowing ......
-your flock size(numbers, ages, genders),
-your coop(size in feet by feet with pics),
-and what all and how exactly you are feeding,
might offer clues to if there is a solvable problem.

I will take more picture today when I’m out there. For now, I’m letting them free range, which seems to be a temporary solution for the time being.

Inside is 4x4. My 5 older girls are 30+ weeks and my Barred Rocks are 27+ weeks. They aren’t ever confined to the 4X8 for extended periods except when locked in for the night. I don’t close the coop door so they have access to their food and water in the morning. Once I open the run door they have an extended enclosure that they have. However, they’ve consumed every bit of grass that possible in it.

I have noticed that 2 of my BR and 1 of my older girls (assume she’s and EE) are safe from the feather pulling butts.
