Pullet died - murdered by feeder!

I had a duck hang himself from a plastic feeder. His bill caught in the top.

I was thinking about mine and if there were a chance that it may or could happen to my girls but I put a large high lip pan under it so I do not think it could happen like it happened to you. You may want to try this and it will work for you. A big catcher pan.

I heard back from the manufacturer and they were polite and forwarded my message to their quality control department with sincere apology. Oh well,

I will take all these ideas of prevention and hopefully this won't happen again. I am in the process of building new feeders, but the winter has paused that for a bit. Thanks every one!
