Pullet has bloody vent, lethargic

Thanks. I’ll try there. She’s not looking very happy this morning. Standing there all fluffed up with her inner eyelids closed, poor thing. Maybe she’s just unhappy with the lights coming on when I put the doggies out. I didn’t bother her and turned the lights back out. Looks like I’ll be able to go to town, so...

Fed my poor hurt girl some honey/saline water with an eye dropper, then headed to town quick (kind of quick—it’s an hour’s drive both ways). Came home with all my vet supplies and found her stiff and dead. Poor girl. RIP little one. Well at least I’ll be all stocked up for the next medical emergency. :(

If there were some compelling reason other than just curiosity I would, but it makes me sad to think about doing that. I don’t want to cut her. I know it’s silly, but that’s just where I am right now.

Could your one of your ducks have pecked your hen’s vent? Do you have any drakes? That was a suggestion from another BYC member, @Wyorp Rock . I would watch out for any other hens getting packed, or look for a drake trying to mate hens.
