Ok gang we bought some mixed pullets from good ole tractor supply that were supposed to be 1-2 days old. all are seemingly doing well except one. she is very verbal and can stand (partially) but does not move much and gets trampled by the others. I have seen her drink the water with hydro-hen mixed with it and peck at the food. She is unsteady on her feet. I have started with warm sugar water and have her on a heating pad. Any thoughts?

Hi ,
Congratulations for new chicks and I'm sorry if one feeling a bit sick it happens when they arrive stress and new environment take time to settle . If u can share a picture of her ?

Don't use warm water if it's warm environment . Use room temperature water and sugar very slightly salt (we don't want to overdo salt it's like very little) and give that water only 2-3 times

Alot sugar water cause pasty butt

You can use jaggery water if u have jaggery it's an instant Vitamin filled source .

And what u are feeding? When I brought chicks in first days I give them only mashed eggs they went crazy

Mashed eggs are very good to relive stress.
I won't suggest to add multi-vitamins because chicks are too small to handle the energy

Hope this helps
.❤️

yes all she will really do is back into the palm of my hand and huddle with me if she's not there she is very vocal and seems to be off balance a bit stumbling backwards at times. For her to be so lethargic but so vocal blows me away.

Do you have any Poultry Nutri-Drench? I would give her 2-3 drops twice a day.
Is she pooping at all?

How's her legs - can she stand upright?
