Thanks! Even though the tile is covered with shavings, when it comes time to clean everything out its sooo easy. I don't have any plans, we just kind of went with it and taught ourselves along the way. I recently took off the 'extra' nest box my DH just HAD to add...they never used it. I actually need to add some recent pics on my byc page.

Roo Stew? That's what I told my 13 year old would likely happen if any of our "pullets" from the pullet bin ended up being Roos just today. He said what will we do I said What will we do? Likely Roo Stew. He was offended I needed to rhyme it. Poor boy.

Eat them. Seriously. It's called, "The circle of life."

Unless you know for certain that the roo will be used to fertilize eggs, or any other legitimate reason, why sell, or give your roos away on Craigslist, or by other methods? I've tried to sell/give my known roos to someone I trust -- so far, no luck -- but I will NOT answer a call from someone I do not know who may use my roos as "target practice" for cock fighting, some kid learning how to use a .22, or any other less than honorable practice. How do you really know what will happen to your roo? I will feel much better raising a roo, and enjoying a meal, than transferring him to someone with motives I can not verify.

I will have to try the tile thing. My BR are always sleeping on top of my coop and in the morning the roof is COVERED with big ol chicken poops. It is so hard getting it off the roof material. Maybe next time I will try roll vinyl for the roof instead.

I vote eat. I recently had to off a roo , he kept attacking me and my daughter. I am still recovering , wounds to my leg and bruises. Booger hurt me bad. We ate him for dinner. I got the last laugh.
To many sweet roosters . Find someone who can take him , offer him to someone who might make him dinner if your ok with that. Little ones I simmer into broth.

Got any friendly neighbors? Whenever this happenes to me, they're happy to take them into their HUUGE flock, then I always know they'll be happy.

I never treat my chickens like chickens.

We have a very small chance of a roo (that's what I'm praying for at least!) because we only have 3 polish that r straight run...that being said, I know there can always be "mix ups." We r hoping that if we got 3 roo's out of that deal that our neighbor or the guy out the road will be willing to re-home! My neighbor already took a black Frizzle I had that was attacking some of the other chicks and she has fit right in with her chicks! I couldn't eat a chicken I raised. Nope! I would try CL or a local auction house if u don't have other chicken friends.
