Pullet is acting unusually tired, keeps closing one eye. Sick?

Uh, can chickens get worms from grasshoppers, because I give plenty of them to my chickens??????? :th:th:th
They can get them from almost any source of bugs or small rodents they find and eat, apparently worms don't like garlic to much as I have never had my chickens that eat bugs all day long every day get to many, they can get the from wild burds passing over and popping in the yard, it's part of nature, usually one of the first signs is they seem to be hungry a lot more but still start getting lighter weight wise. it gets bad enough and not treated it can kill a chicken. but so can over treating them for them too.

Can worms eventually give your chicken a heartattack like one of mine did? She started barely eating and losing weight. Then laid around panting until she just all of a sudden made a few noises then flopped around squawking until she died.

the best way to know what happened to your chicken is a necropsy.
Worms, parasites, cankers, accidentally getting into something poisonous, an allergic reaction to something new, lots of things can kill a chicken, I keep an emergency first aid kit supplied with the most common things needed.

There's a learning Center on here where you can learn just about everything so you know what your getting into and a section that deals with flock health

How do I go about having my pullets de-wormed? All I have is a Tractor Supply. I do have a vet who will see chickens, but don't know if he does everything.

The best way to find out if a chicken has worms is to get a fecal float. Your vet or state lab can do that for you. There's also mail order services you can purchase off amazon.

Any vet can deal with worms. However, when it comes to chickens, they may be restricted by legalities with some meds restricted for food animals.
As was said, get a fecal sample read so you know what kind of worms the chickens have and then you'll know what meds will treat them.

I guess it is possible. Worms and other parasites steal nutrients from the host animal. That then translates to weakness which could lead to any sort of health problem.
Sorry, we've already disposed of her body. And if I live to be 100, I'll never have the stomach to look at anything's innards.
In the future, send the bird to one of your state poultry labs for necropsy and lab work. Texas has several options. If you call, they'll likely send you a FedEx label for shipping.
