Pullet is gasping, coughing and sticking the neck forward and upwards

You can let her have the cat food and some crumbles. I'm hoping that once she starts eating better, she will just get stronger and stronger. If she is finally eating for you, then hold off on the baby bird formula. If you have any hard cat food, soak it in water till its soft and let her have some of that. It is higher protein than the moist.

In any case, I am so glad to hear that all the symptoms are finally clearing up. Do you feel she is better now and ready to leave the 'hospital room'? Or is there something you are still concerned about?

Great job taking care of her.

No, I don't feel she is ready to go back outside. She is still weak. She is normally real flighty, and squaks and runs around alot when you go near her(as I was told Houdans can't see real well because of their tophats and full beards so we just dealt with it) until you catch her, then she is a sweatheart. Well, she now just sits there and lets you pick her up. She will cluck a little but doesn't protest to much. I have a light in her cage so at night I can check on her without turning on the big light and she seems to want to sleep near it, when I turn it off during the day she moves away from it.

I have 7 cats so dry cat food is no problem.
