Pullet laying patterns - what is normal?

We have four pullets, a rhode island red 9brown eggs), a buff orpington (brown eggs), a double tufted rumpless araucana (blue eggs) and an EE Ameraucana (blue eggs)
They are all the same age (now 7 months old)
Oct 31, I started getting brown eggs. For the first week I was getting 1 egg every other day in the same nest box and I figured it was the orpington. Then one day there were two eggs, one in the same nest and one outside in the yard. I assumed the rhode island red had started laying.
Since then, I have had a funny pattern -
day 1-egg
day2 -egg
day 3 nothing
day 4-egg
day5- egg
day 6 nothing
All the eggs are brown and therefore belong to the two hens described above but I wonder when it seems they are waiting so long between eggs. Obviously, if two chickens were each laying every other day, I'd either get two every other day or one egg a day.
The blue egg chickens haven't started at all yet. So my questions are these?

1.what's going on with the brown eggs? Why am I getting them in that peculiar pattern instead of one every other day from both hens and
2. what's with the other pullets and how come they've not gotten the idea to start laying eggs? They've been watching for a month and actually, my araucana is a couple weeks older than the other three.
