Pullet making noise

My 18 week RIR pullet is not at point of lay yet. She is in very good health from what I can see. My question is do chickens pur. I have never noticed it in all the years I have had them. My wife was holding her life she does everyday and she noticed she was mmaking a purring noise almost like a cat. Do any of your hens do this?

my hens do this every night while they are roosting. At first i thought.. is that chicken snoring? My husband calls it they're "happy noise"
