Pullet or Cockerel? Dumped Chicken

Interesting story on this bird. Someone called us yesterday to ask about where to take a rooster so my coworker mentioned another feed store that does and the customer hung up after saying "Okay!"
We think it was that person who dumped this pretty gal off to run around warehouse.
Well, their loss is your gain. I agree with @JedJackson They probably miss-judged the sex by the comb.

How sad! She looks like she has a sweet disposition.

I'm finding the EEs to be a hard bunch to sort out. One of my EEs has had a very red comb since about 4 weeks. I look at this bird and I would've thought rooster as well because of the green in its tail, the large comb, etc.

Is it the fact that her coloring is more uniform than, say, my EE in the photo? There's no splotchy coloring?

If you look at the last 2 photos I included in my original post, you'll notice her neck feathers and the saddle feathers are round.
Cockerels/Roosters have more pointed and thin feathers.

I had a similar situation about a month ago, my son called me from work (he is a mobile expert at our T Mobile) and said that there was a chicken running around the empty field behind the store and did I want it since they had already called the nearby farm store, checked around with neighboring houses and businesses etc and no one claimed it or wanted it. My husband I loaded up our mobile catch pen (we are frequently called to wrangle loose chickens) and went down there, we caught it in minutes. After doing more searches for the owner and failing to find one, we decided to keep her. She is a red sex link of some variety (red comet maybe?) and are just starting on integrating her into her into our flock after her month long quarantine. I love to hear stories of people that are willing to take in the "unwanted" chickens in our lives. Around here, no chicken is truly unwanted because I want them all!!! (omg chicken math!) Congratulations on your new acquisition and good on you for rescuing it! :celebrate:wee:highfive:

oh btw...the reason I mentioned where my son works is because we named her "TM" for T Mobile and she has become the unofficial store mascot. We even bought her a toddler sized T Mobile T shirt that says "I run on 5G" because she was so hard to catch (several people had tried over the 4 days that she had been living in the field behind the store)
